At our sessions there is no expectation to have done anything creative before you attend Space2Create, however, even the most experienced artists will still benefit from attending our Creative Sessions.
When you arrive at Space2Create, you will be greeted by one of our lovely Session Volunteers who will offer you a hot drink. The session will be set up in our art room and all materials will be provided and ready for you. All you need to do is choose a seat and wait for the session to begin.
Every session has a session leader and one or more session volunteers. Creative sessions usually start with a demonstration which breaks down the intended outcome into manageable chunks. Prompt sheets are provided to help get ideas flowing and we have an extensive library should anyone get stuck. The session leader will work alongside you throughout the session and is on hand to provide additional guidance and answer any questions.
Sessions are always friendly with supportive chat and lots of laughs but can also have periods of quiet when people get into their 'Creative Flow'.
Tea and biscuits are served mid session.
Our '2Create' and 'WeCreate' sessions focus mainly on 2D art including drawing, painting and printing.
Our 'In Stitches' sessions focus on knitting and crochet. All abilities welcome. Guidance from experienced knitters, project ideas or bring a project you are working on.
Hands On sessions focus on '3D Art and Making Projects'. For example: tunnel books, assemblage art, wreaths, embroidery and macrame. Again, no prior experience is required as each session starts with a demonstration and guidance will be given throughout the session.
Our 'Craft and Chat' group cover all sorts of different crafts with plenty of time to natter while you work in our supportive and friendly session environment.
Learn how to create beautiful rag rugs at these sessions. All abilities catered for.
Every Saturday, gather to enjoy sharing your writing journey with the group, gathering ideas and writing prompts.
